I haven't seen the movie, but I've been seeing the commercials often. A simple declarative sentence, shouted in defiance, "I am Beowulf" reminds me a lot of "This is Sparta". Those marketing guys -- if pushing a catch-phrase as your marketing campaign works once, keep doing so.

i wrote an instrumental a few years ago, by accident, and titled it beowulf.

Pathfinder and Beowulf and Grendel. If you are into Vikings and want some really cool viking comics I highly recommend "Northlanders".by Brian Wood who did DMZ. It is as historically as accurate as possible and is not for the squeamish.

I used to work in Jersey City, in the Mall. I managed the Waldenbooks there.
I liked the path access. I was able to take the train from where I used to live, and save wear and tear on my Mustang.
We also used to use the Mall as a staging area, for jaunts into the City.

Same here. We seem to like all the same stuff. I even caught you mentioning the Boer war on another post. I am 'into' the Zulu wars, Boer war era. As a matter of fact, watched 'Zulu' again last night, while on-line here.

Speaking of Vikings, did you see Pathfinder? (I think I got the name right). If so, how was it? It was in the theatres for maybe 4 minutes, here.
Is Northlanders a regular series, or in graphic novel form?

Northlanders will be a monthly series coming out in December from Vertigo (DC's interesting/adult but not porn line). Bernard Cornwall writes some amazing accurate historical fiction about the Viking saxon era and the Napoleonic wars(the Sharpe series). He also did a great couple books about the ejnglish longbowmaen at Crecy and the US civil war. I also get a zombie comic called "the Walking Dead" which is much better than 99% of other zombie stuff which other than WWZ I don't much like.

ZULU is an awesome movie and a fascinating time in history. I have been shopping around for a Martini Henry ever since seeing it. You don't need a licence for one even in Canada(yet). As a wounded soldier in the Zulu wars I would much rather be treated by the Zulu witch doctor ,at least they had anaesthetic.
