The Pig's Nose sounds interesting...a good background bottle for some Busse shots...a tumbler of that with a bowl of Ice and your Artic White SHBM...with the caption..."some things are just naturally cool"...LOL...now that would be a cracking photo...

320 Billion?? Crazy money....reminds me of a US General doing a talk show about military spending....he said " Once you're talking a Billion here and a Billion there you soon start talking about a serious piece of change"...just about sums up how the government must look at "spending"...

Once people start slinging numbers like that around, the sense of what money actually is and represents sort of goes out the window. This is unfortunate.

It's pretty much a "free fire" zone that seems to be for whatever you want to post. Some thread content rules seem to be relaxed here, although you should still keep it fairly clean -- negative attention can put an end to any good thing.

Oh and as for banks... Check this out...
One of our major banks up here is basically complaining because their projected profits for the 4th quarter is only 1.1 billion, down from 1.4billion last year. :eyeroll:

The way I read the $320B bailout plan, it's $20B up front + a promise to guarantee up to $300B in potentially bad debt that they're holding. That makes it hard to figure out exactly how much the taxpayers are actually on the hook for. I wouldn't be surprised if that also allows the Fed to "spend" that $300B in more than one place to get around the $700B actually authorized for TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program).
