Dang, I've been cruising the BFE, not the KF. Used to do the KF, but it always seemed they had nothing I wanted, or were asking too much; now I'm gonna have to start cruising it again, hoping against it all to find another like it! Aaaarrrggghhh!

A roommate of mine while I was in college had one of those Jag's. Not sure what year it was, but it was the same sunburst. Nice guitar. The Les Paul looks good too. What kind of pickups are you running in it? Cheers ...I had to let it go to help fund this 1965 Fender Jaguar (on left):

Mag - thanks - that Classic 30 is a killer amp - once the tube rattle issues are addressed. I've put my full stack away and use the C30 for practices and gigs - plenty of output (I run 3 clean and 5 on OD channel - max). DotD - The Jag is pretty nice. I'm a Les Paul guy, and the Jag sounds very different. I'm still figuring out how to exploit its sound. The '69 Deluxe has P90's in it instead of the stock mini-humbuckers. They're relatively recent Gibson P90's - same ones used in a '54/56 Reissue. Its the best sounding and playing guitar in my arsenal. I've been using nothing but Les Pauls for a while now: ![[Linked Image from i163.photobucket.com]](http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t311/dzrice/DSCN1831.jpg) But just picked up this PRS SE for $365 w/ the case (shipped! - its my Xmas present from the wife) - and have really gotten to like it a lot. (I've got to wrap it up in a few days and wait to "open" it! ) ![[Linked Image from i163.photobucket.com]](http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t311/dzrice/8aaf_1.jpg)

Hahahah, that's classic. My friend is in a band and does some amazing stuff, I'll never get as good as them or you guys, but I'd love to learn and be able to pick up a guitar and just jam.

Pink - Mag has me on guitar skills by about ten fold, but I've been getting back in to my groove (been back in for about 2.5 years after 4 years off). Its a lot of fun. KenKen - thanks! Lets see your Fender! Mag - yes, TWO Elitists. They sound pretty different, though. The White Custom just got some GFS Mean 90's in her - they SCREAM! They're Hbucker sized P90's for $75/pair! The two Gibsons on the right are my "at home" guitars, really. I take them out in nice weather - but my sleazy bar and unheated practice space guitars are the Elitists. The Burst when I want 'Buckers, the Custom when I want P90's. They sounded better stock than my Gibson '58! The '58 has some new pickups coming from WB pretty soon - the Firewater set in Zebra. Here's those Mean 90's: ![[Linked Image from i163.photobucket.com]](http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t311/dzrice/DSCN2261.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i163.photobucket.com]](http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t311/dzrice/DSCN2259.jpg)

i was actually going to order the black nickel gfs fat pat for the neck position of my ibanez, which has black nickel hardware. the project guitar was originally to have a pair of dimarzio breed, then i thought gfs, now i'm thinkin the humbuckers i have sitting here.

This is my only experience with GFS. They were packaged nicely. The leads were pretty thin and flimsy, although the construction of the pickup seemed very good. The tone... wow, brother - to die for! I've got PIO caps in mine for a little more vintage warmth. W/ the tone on 10, the pickups themselves are quite bright. not in a BAD way, but bright and a little thinner than I'm used to from P90's. With the tone backed off to 7-8, they fatten up and warm up quite nicely - pretty vintage P90 tone - not quite as warm as old P90's, but they are a little hotter as well. Boy do they scream! Pinch harmonics sound great. They are very growly but still quite articulate. I've got a set of handwounds on the way(the previously mentioned Firewater set from www.wbpickups.com - Will is a member over at MLP) which should be here soon - I'm sure that they are a better pickup than GFS stuff, but for the GFS price, you can't go wrong! Will does handwound pups at great prices, though - the wait is usually a litte long as he's a 2 man shop and the demand is high.
