Very young - was he sick for awhile ?

He complained of flu like symptoms for about a week before. He died of pneumonia in his workshop.

He was in his workshop working? With pneumonia?
Wow...serious bummer <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Not this kid.
I've got small enough hands now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Just read in another post that you've got a DF.
Any extras kicking about? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Got some moras today and like that triflex and the 860. Think I'll order some of the biggies. Why you want an old clunky DF ?

Tolly and Dave- what grits are you guys using and type of paper ? Anything special. You have a pic of yours Dave ? Thanks

I would recommend getting some 220 to 800 to get started. You really don't want to go more than about 600 grit for a good working edge that will be doing a lot of slicing anyway. When you super polish a blade up to the 1500+ grit levels it becomes very good at push cutting, but it loses some of it's slicing ability.

Start with the 220 until you get the edge convexed, and then move up to 400, 600, and finish with 800 for a really good all around edge. If you are sharpening a "hard to sharpen" steel like S30V or 154CM you might want to start with 180 and then go 220, 320, 400, 600, and 800. Once you have them good and sharp you can touch them up with the 800 and you're good to go.

Oh man, the new CS website is a hoot. I like CS and Lynn for that matter, but this is priceless. I wonder how long this will remain until the web guy notices?

On the belt sanders, I use a Delta DA180 which is a 1x42". Jeff and Vic also have DA180s. I also have a HF that is a 1x30" and it stays set up with a leather belt on it loaded with Hand American green compound liquid for super polishing.

Hey ordawg1, be sure to order you a Mora #S-04 if you didn't already, and the #9125 is a neat knife that we use a lot for everything from cleaning the big catfish to skinning wild hogs. Oh yeah, almost forgot the #S-0125.

The 893, 896, are great fishing knives and the 893 is an awesome kitchen knife too.

I the looks of the S-04. Had a C-173 once too.
I like the looks of the 893 and the 896. Also, the 856-T looks pretty useful
too.

That 860-MG Clipper is working out pretty nicely
