Love the look, haven't tried it. If you get it and don't like it I know someone who'll take it...

klink just lettin ya know that the JYD on the rules page the date says 08/1/11 instead of 09/1/11

Maybe it's just me, but I think it should be listed in mm/dd/yy format. That IS the standard US format, and since the site and most of the visitors are from the US, it would be less confusing.

So, I was showing off my SOD while doing some demo at the church and sure enough the question of it's valor comes up.
I said "This here blade's a tank!",
They respond,
"Oh yeah, how so? What if I drop it on this concrete floor from a 6' height point first?"
I said "Do it, doooooooooo it"(Starsky and Hutch humor)
"Really?"
"Yeah, it's got a warranty. Dooooo it."
Drop. Hole in vinyl tile and chunk out of concrete floor.
"How's it look?"
"Looks good, I didn't drop it that hard."
"Give it some force then."
"Are you sure?"
"Doooooo it."
Serious chunk comes out of the concrete floor, about a quarter round and a half inch deep.
"Still looks good, I wouldn't have done that with a $120 blade if it were mine though."
I respond, "This is no safe queen. This bad boy hasn't even gotten started yet!"
to be continued...

The SOD's colors were flying so high, I would be hard pressed to find any better competition. I should have snapped some pics of the chunks, hopefully I may get some this weekend since we're going back to do some electrical work.
NO electrical test's! Despite the non-conductivity of res-c and those who claim it!(Andy )lol.

And, no more concrete testing, it's onto wood for now.

so im stuck....i need a new knife....i dont know if i want some sort of khukuri or if i want the BRKT KSF machete (id go with the golok but im not sure the back point is sharp enough for making holes in wood) any help would be appreciated. i primarily want it for jungle/heavy veg use.

for jungle and vegetation i'd stick with the machete. go for reach and light weight.

We get 28.8kbits sometimes, but that's our definition of slow. And it's only frustrating when dealing with things of a time-sensitive nature (like using everybody's favorite enormous auction site), which I don't do often. Otherwise it just makes me prioritize what I'm going to spend my time loading.

Plus it gives me a stable foundation from which to launch tirades on how inefficient a lot of web design is these days.

US standard is ridiculous, in this case. My preferred way to write days is yyyy-mm-dd with four digit years and leading zeroes. Today is 2009-01-12. It puts the most significant (largest) datum first, and increasing degrees of precision as you read left to right.

I'm also a proponent of writing the $ after the amount (two dollars = 2$), because it's consistent with the way the rest of our language is structured.
