LOL! I just caught your PM. Yes, I must have been way out of it when I was batoning with the RD7. I had tried splitting some wood with the Trail hawk but it was taking forever so I grabbed the Ranger and it was making short work of it when suddenly I realized I was using the hawk to baton it!
From that point on I used a wooden baton but the damage was done. The good news is I found out just how tough those Rangers can be!

What's going on there with the biscuit making? Some kind of improvised double-pan system to distribute the heat off the electric coil?

Are tomahawks no good at splitting? I know they tend to have thin blades...

I wouldn't think so. They have a really thick pol - where the handle slips through the blade.

It came that way, but a forum member wanted a convex edge put on a brand new machete he just got. I must say, an 18" razor sharp and pointy bowie machete is one intimidating knife! He wants me to sharpen the swedge, too. Should I be doing this for a hispanic who idolizes that guy in Machete ? Oh well, he's on the opposite coast. I'm safe.

There's definitely one scene in the trailer where I idolize him.

HD, that sure is a pointy knife. Hope that I get that good someday!
You should look into getting a franchise setup for the 3rd World Grind Shop.
