Here the next knife I'm working on after I finish my others.

If some of you remember, I had a extra piece of steel and started cutting out the lower one.



I liked the design a lot, but the handle was just to small so I went ahead and started a larger version and I'm much happier with it.

taper off the grip on the one with too small a handle and let a short lanyard serve as the remainder of the grip. like the hartsook.

that's what i did with the bottom knife here.

Thanks, but I'll have to see how it feels and use once it's all done. I like the sheepsfoot blade because gives a longer cutting edge in a shorter package (nearly as long my DMCG) and still has a sweep but not as much as a muk.

True, I didn't think of that. The curve at the end does make the handle significantly shorter since I can't grip it there.

m22, how do you cut out your designs? bandsaw/hacksaw?

might also try grinding out that guard/choil/indexing groove thing. just follow the same line as that on the back of the grip until you reach the choil and that may give you enough handle.
