For cutting down tree's I'd say there's none better.
Those are the perfect size. I wonder how they would carry on a pack?

Now I want one. Shirasaya are nice but dangerous.
I have seen them sanded down and used as walking sticks. Highly illegal in Cali.
At that price it really is hard to say no.
Would you make any changes to the handle?

i planned on carrying over a trick from the knife industry. drill a hole near the pommel and insert a lanyard loop of 550 short enough to keep my hand off the blade if i slipped on a thrust.

Yeah, but if I wait 6 months I can probably make a hefty profit, even considering I've done some chopping with it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

There are very few blades I would keep in anticipation of selling, but I expect the killa z to go for a huge amount of money on the exchange, so it's darn tempting to keep it.

And definitely go for the PhD - it'll be the best 5-15 years of your life - if you like missing sleep, forgoing personal hygiene, and living off of ramen noodles <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Seriously, it's well worth it and a great feeling when you finish. I got my first letter addressed to me with "Dr." in front of my name today, and it brought that sense of pride from graduation day rushing back.

it's a good idea. plus later you can always say "honey, i held that other knife for only six months and it pulled me a $250 profit."

now any knife you want is yours.
