Depends on if I get banned first for saying things like cr-p I broke my own rule and bought that non-SYK Chopweiler. It should arrive mid next week, I am told. I will post some thoughts on it working through pine-beetle-killed trees but only in the death channel, to keep it low-key from the forum perspective since it is non-SYKCO.

Both he and I are members of a private, apid forum for high-end professional photographers. Many of the top most financially successful and artistically successful photographers are members of this forum.

He asked if I would mind if he started a discussion, quoting what i wrote to him, in full. I granted him permission, and he did.

Of course, my ideas are ... unpopular, to say the least. So, for the last two days, I have been buffeted by an onslaught of some of the world's best photographers, interrogating me, grilling me, giving me the third degree, about my views about composition.

It's been a very odd experience.

from what ive learned, successful people dont like change that might make them less successful or hurt their ego.

Chopweilers are pretty nice.

I think it is OK to discuss them here. They are Busse Kin knives, and they are discussed without any issues... I think.

Chris,

If the weather permits, I will be going to the Lake Tahoe area to photograph a pileated woodpecker nest.

And you?

Neat! I love wood peckers. Such interesting birds. There was a small one who would hit pu the same telephone pole across from my house every day last summer.

I had no idea that you love woodpeckers.

Doctor up a Scrapper 6 in the mouth of that bird and you could title it "storming the tower"

55-60!?! Those are freezing temps Momaw. It's 76f in the Valley right now.

Nice job Evo! It will only make you stronger. Plus, I've seen this mentality before...artist's in the past...hmmmm....

According to my thermometer, right now it's 52.6F outside. With light rain and the barometer is still falling. Which is rather cool for this time of year! Interior temperature is 68F, and furnace heating is disabled; it was quite a bit warmer earlier. Or I guess actually that was yesterday at this point.

Art, Thank you.

Matt, I think that may be part of it, but I think a bigger part of it is a fear of the unknown that comes from letting go of the foundations of what you understand, even if what you understand is wrong.

Just post a pic of it with the S5 once you have it and you're covered. lol.
It's funny, but I think I'm the one who started pushing random stuff into the forum. I was once directed to the Outdoor forum for some questions I believe, but now I can't remember the specifics. All kidding aside, EVERYONE here loves knife porn!!!!

Great shots Evo, I love bird watching. I have seen some red tailed hawks in action out here and even some owls out and about during the day? Weird, I know.

evo totally...for me composition is merely half of it....what it took to achieve the shot is more what im interested in and to me makes for an awesome picture.

like the snow leopard chase....unreal
