i already have a lot of respect for the usa made bucks. if not for spyderco, they'd probably be my first choice in a folder. they're my second most accumulated brand of folder, at two.

i'm gonna buy a folder or two right now.

done. is yours the 420hc model or the s30v? i don't think i've seen those black grips before. i thought they were less aggressively textured.

buck's 420HC blades are just fine. ZDP-189 is the new hot stuff, so go get it before the price shoots up.

Sharp, that Spyderco Griptilian is beat to heck! The Benchmade Ruckus looks to be well used but intact. When I'm out in the bush I usually carry a large fixed blade, a large locking folder, and a small SAK. But when I walk around the little hiking trails here on the island, I like a small fixed blade and large folder. The Victorinox OHT has been a favorite of mine. It has a usable saw and a fairly large blade. But in town, I carry something I can deploy rapidly, like my CS Voyager, Spyderco Endura, and now, my new Benchmade Dejavoo.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
