Has anyone ever bought any clothing from Tad Gear? I have been looking at their Force 10 Cargo shorts. Looks like their answer to 5.11 shorts. Has anyone had tad gear clothing? how has it held up. 75 bones for a pair of shorts seems a little steep.

I have been looking into ranger hoodie for a long time.
It costs about $200.

I think sharp and cloak and maybe nick own some of their clothing.

Same here, that ranger hoodie looks great. I also wanted their backpack, but looking more at the kifaru x-ray now. I gotta start saving up a lot of money...

I saw them at a local knife show last year, when I just got into knives so I didn't really know who they were, but their stuff looked good. They're located in San Francisco so I'm going to stop by next time I'm up there and check out the stuff in person.

Okay, so sadly neither Sharp nor I own TAD gear brand clothing, but we've bought a lot of gear from them. Even regular, base-line shipping can reach us in about 2 days, so its ideal to order from them If we can. Believe me, if I had the money I'd buy from them, but I don't so I'll have to keep on dream'n

Tad is great, I have the fast pack (sweet BTW) the stealth hoodie, and have bought a number of things from them, all held up well, but 75 bones for the shorts is steep, I just cant see spending 75 on shorts, but I can see 200 on a flashlight or 400 on a knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

TAD gear is like Busse the outdoor gear. Top of the line but top of the price range. My biggest complaint(pardon the pun) is they don't have fat middle age white guy sizes. Say one thing for Busse they know their demographic ,their clothes start at Large and go to a 6XXXXXXL. The Busse Combat 3XXXL hoodie is awesome so I considered picking up a 6X as a quad cover.

I find you are generally better off with actual army issue pants especially.
The old style canadian stuff is so well made it would cost about 160$ for a pair of pants to be made to that standard. I like a mix of the best surplus ,civilian and tactical gear. Today on the motorbike I had my 30+ year old lined chemical warfare pants(it was nippy) Busse combat hoodie ,a Columbia hardshell and unlined capeskin gloves. I also had my new PASGT military helmet which is going to be awesome in hot weather. It flows ar fantastically. I had my Spy sunglasses but they are soon going to be swapped for the military Sawflys BananaClip is sending me(Thanks dude!).

A couple other really nice peices of clothing I have are a black Propper BDU top and the Canadian military ECWS(Extreme cold weather) fleece sweat pants. They are meant as a lining but are great everywhere. Nylon knee patches and zipper pockets are very nice. Propper make decent gear. Not nearly as cool as TAG but cheaper.

I would only get something from TAD if I could not find a surplus or civilian version. My Columbia hardshell is almost as nice as the Tad one and is plain black. It does not have quite as many features but is also less than 1/2 the price(way less actually). Even if they were exactly the same Columbia's china factory makes 30 000 while Tad in the US makes 3000 so the prices will be a LOT different.
