Hi Everyone

I’m a newby here, so please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gideon and I live in NJ. I recently started looking for a good camp/trail/outdoors knife and since most of my other knives are back in South Africa I started doing some research and ended up here. I’m proud to say that I received my brand spanking new Dumpster Mutt yesterday. What a knife… I’m now going to have to get a black one because the DC blade is much too nice to ruin on mere outdoor activities. My financial troubles have just started, I’m afraid.

Anyway, here are some pics. Please excuse the home made pants, but I have a 3 year old daughter and we can’t have naked “Dogs” running around here ;-) The Kydex sheath from Rainwalker will arrive shortly.

I look forward to chatting and all you knowledgeable folk’s advice on what looks like a great forum.

We have a knifeaholics group <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />. I joined the yard 10/05/2007. Since then I have purchased a Busse Combat blade, a Swamprat blade and 5 Scrapyard blades. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> Yes I have a problem. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />. The problem is all my friends on here tell me the cure is to buy another blade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Hi everyone

Thanks for the warm welcome, I can see I'm going to enjoy the forum.

The sheath was made on advice from Rainwalker while I wait for the real one. Thanks for the advice, it worked out well.

I did the lanyard myself after some brushing up on the net - haven't done one since the army days (quite some time ago) but it comes back to you.

My other knives are few and far between. I've lost 2 Spydercos to the ocean and one very nice Spyderco Police to theft. Other than that, I have a hand made folder as a gift from my dad, a Ka-Bar, and a couple of Puma folders. Now I have to start saving for the Dogfather...
