What is the difference in the regular Busse knife grips and the Mag grips?

If it is the top one, that is a big difference.

Meatcutter I asked a similar question yesterday of the Busse Boys and was told that the thickness varies from knife style to blade thickness as well. There doesnt seem to be an exact thickness of Magnums vs standard, confused yet? Chickenplucker

I'm always confused just gimme a sharp blade and a big hunk o' beef and then the world makes sense LOL!I figure the mags are thicker maybe, I don't know and this will be my first Busse so i have nothing to compare it too.I'm sure I'll like the knife regardless.

Here are two ASH1s. Both are CG with sage coating and black micarta. The only difference is that one has mag grips and the other standard. Can you spot the difference? ![[Linked Image from img213.imageshack.us]](http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/1790/img6064wf1.jpg)

That's a great photo and help for me C.O. and I wish I had come across this before I got my FFBM.....I would have known to look for a standard grip ....although these must be pretty rare I expect? I definately think the none palm swell standard grip will give more comfort over prolonged use by avoiding hot spots....

Both are good depending on hand size. FFBMs are plentiful in both configurations, depending on the handle type. One nice thing about the magnums is that you have more material to sand down and remove if you want to customize them!

Whoever said "it depends on the knife" hit it spot on. Mags vary from just a little bigger to lots bigger. I don't have very big hands so my general rule is thick blade, standard handle; thin blade, mag handle. As an example, the CGASH1 is perfect for me with standard grips while the Skinny ASH1 is perfect for me with mag handles.

[censored] Kraz that makes so much sense it is hard to believe I never thought of that. I must say I like these old style waffle pattern ergo grips a lot. So far though the larger RES-C grips on my DFLE are the best although I have not given my ERGO a hard work out.

I don't care much for the look of the Ergo handles but they appear to be very ergonomic anyway thanks for all the info! So if you get the CG blade with the mag handles its a pretty thick grip.I've always liked the SOG seal series because of the thick handles,so I think I would like the ASH with mags.My hands aren't small and they fill my paws nicely.I know from cutting with bloody hands all the time the thicker the handle the more secure it is when wet, bloody, or oily.
