I have been getting e-mails from the Dogs wondering if we are doing the Diabetes Walk again this year for Theresa. Yes we are. If anyone is interested in supporting this cause you can do so at the website www.stepout.diabetes.org
click on "Sponsor a Walker", Select walk: Ohio; look for OH, Toledo (the walk is October 19)and click on Sponsor. You can either search for a walker (Theresa, Dan, Patti, Mary or Mike Busse) or for the team "Tweeter's Troops".
Once the name comes up, click on either the name, and you will be taken to her web site. Click on "Click Here to Sponsor Me" and fill out the form.

Thank you very much for your interest.

If you want to donate, please do so through the Step-out Diabetes. Otherwise,
just keeping her in thoughts and prayers is more than appreciated.

Thanks.

Patti

Congrats on hitting your first donation target Dan! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /><img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Although isn't making a donation to yourself kind of cheating? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I never thought of it that way <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I guess it comes down to perception <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Patti,

My company has a large division working on diabetes therapies, but that is a tough condition to beat. Patients, doctors and scientists are making progress though, just need some more time.

Is Theresa okay, is she going to be okay?

Thoughts and prayers are with her.

Brad

edit: I'll forward your page to some fellow researchers.. it is good remind them the real reason why we do what we do. Sometimes, the industry is soooo caught up in stocks and economics, that we forget the work is about people. It is very, very embarrassing.

Back off man, I'm a scientist.

Is the site down? I can't get to it. Both of my parents have diabetes an I want to help out with sponsorship if I can.

Theresa is an amazing kid. She refuses to let diabetes affect her life. We have met so many parents and kids who become...in Theresa words...weird and strange. She wants other kids to know that it is manageable and no big deal. She has been an inspiration to everyone who has met her. WOW am I a proud Dad. We completed the walk yesterday and the crowd that showed up was huge. Theresa was the single highest individual for donations. She is already setting her sights for next year. It’s hard to believe that roughly a year and half ago that Patti and I were standing in a hospital room having almost lost her two different times in 48 hours. The big guy works in mysterious ways. We consider ourselves very blessed. Thanks for helping the researchers keep the eye on the target so others may not have to go through such trials. She is doing great and just got great report from the doctors. I did ask if they have shot that might help with her temp driving or least something that they could give me.
