Which came first, posting on the forum or getting a knife?
Well as for me I'm gonna have to ride these forums until I can get my first SYK. Until then I'll just be drooling over all the pics. Don't worry though, I won't just up and leave once I get one, I'll have to be back so I can get advice on how to convince my wife I need another!
What about you guys? Who got their knife before they were posting and who posted until they got one?

Welcome to the Yard! Some folks for some reason feel they can’t/shouldn’t post before they own a knife. But, that’s unnecessary. We’re friendly and welcome everyone! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I was a member at the Swamp Rat forum (and posted daily) for a year or two before I bought my first knife. So, no need to sit quietly, feel free to join in. Some of us have been here from day one, before knives were even offered for sale. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> So, initially, the forum came first.

Although the egg definitely came first, most of us came to the yard looking for that first knife. Soon the realization set in that the folks here made waiting for the next release fairly worthwhile... post away, knife or not!

I first came to the forum. Mostly reading. The ambiance is so warm and friendly so I stayed and made some posts. I applyed for my first SYK with bowl #1 and #3. #1 is traveling to a sheath maker so I won't see it before... perhaps chrismas. #3 should be in my hand this week, I hope.

for me, reading and asking questions helped me decide about buying.
I found out the classics are classics for good reasons! (Howling Rat, Camp Tramp, RMD)
