What's the maximum blade thickness, that this unit can handle? Probably useless for sharpening any of the Busse clan of knives.

Might be okay for sharpening the ole kitchen knives.

When you care enough to use only the best...stick'em with a SKYCO knife.

$1850 PLUS import duty?!?!
... and then it gets pvvn3d by a $30 POS Harbor Freight belt sander.
No thanks.

I definitely won't be messing with any Catra box.

I would avoid that thing like the plague. Those kinds of sharpeners remove a lot of material and almost never give a great edge. As mentioned, they might be okay for some cheapo kitchen knives if you have absolutely no knife sharpening skills and needed to put some kind of an edge back on you cutlery.

At THAT price? No, thank you. I'll stick with my Spyderco Sharpmaker.

I have my reservations as well, but then again, it *is* a CATRA. I'll contact CATRA and see what they have to say about supporting big, thick Bussekins...

But what if it actually is capable of consistent 30° convex edges? And you could always scrape the magnetic wheel guards for a pure, 100% steel dust high...
