Just wondering, how many are using knifes daily?

Do you use thme for daily things or do you buys them because they good knifes and you collect them? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am a residential GC who uses a knife as a primary trade tool on a near daily basis, M-SAT. I generally sport a fixed blade (SAR5, Fox River) during most of the construction process, transitioning over to a folder (SnG Tanto, XM-18) when the job is near complete. Fixed blades earn a "whoa, sweet" response from most contractors, folders usually get a "wow, nice" from prospective buyers and agents.

I use my folder most often. When I get some more pants, some of my smaller knives will be EDC.

Daily carry is a 4 inch fixed blade. I use it for...y'know, cutting stuff? Opened a DVD case the other day. Was working on whittling a spear shaft before that. Sliced a cucumber. Random stuff for which knives are used, that's what I use my knife for. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

My Dogfather only gets pulled out for heavier work. It's not socially acceptable, even if the state laws do not explicitly forbid it (plus it's heavy). Was doing some trail maintenance with it, pretty effective tool for that.

I mainly use my folders(SAK, Spydies, Cold Steel, SOG) because the fixed blades tend to draw to many comments from sheeple.

Do you think that personal appearance, confidence, or geographic locality would have the biggest effect on social acceptance of one's knife or knives? Nobody has said anything about my carrying or using knives since highschool, when a student tried to raise a fuss about my knife and the instructor basically said "Yeah? So?".

I have many knives fixed and folders that I use on and off on a daily basis. All my blades are subject to possible use, I don't care much for a knife that I wouldn't want to be a user if I needed to, however I do have a few that I have yet to use or that get used rarely. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

For everyday/everywhere I use a folder (Al Mar Sere 2000). I use it for all things where a knife is helpful: opening letters, cases, boxes, cutting bread, fruit and so on.

At home, until recently I used another folder: a Buck 110 for all things. This sumer vacation I used a RAT RC-3 for all things. Then I put my hands on a HCLE. The HCLE replaced the Buck in my kitchen and it's now my everything knive at home and for walks.

When running or cycling I try to find a place for a Spyderco endura if I have an application for it, else I prefer to be light.

I'm waiting a Mudd Puppy LE. Can't say if it will replace the HCLE in use, have to test it. I received a Tan Yard Keeper and I think that as soon as I get a pant for him he will be my everything tool for outdoor activities.

I have some more knives but not a real collection.
