Well we finally have the long awaited Scrapyard version of the CampTramp (except better because of the flat grind ) but it is going to have some tough competition in the very popular and hotly contested 7 to 8 inch blade do it all bowie range. The biggest contender is going to probably be the very nice looking Bravo 2 from Bark River.

Now I have a soft spot for the yard but I admit that b2 sure looks nice.
If someone else does not post a photo I will go find one but really it is
simply a Bravo1 about the same size as the SOD. I believe the steel is A2 ,a very nice tool steel and a great choice for this type of knife but in my opinion not as nice as Scrapyards famous Sr77. I am not a fan of the small Sr77 knives but in a knife like the SOD the steel and Scrapyard itself is perfect.

More than the S6 or even the Dogfather this new knife could be the iconic Scrapyard knife. The FSH is the knife on the Busse logo and the hoody I am wearing right now. The proportions of the 7+ incher are perfect visually with the big res-c handle. The flat grind is not quite as good looking as the sabre grind but it works better and these knives are all about performance.

The B2 is also a good looking knife but not nearly as iconic for Bark River.
The bravo 1 was one of the best sellers in the barkie line.

When it comes to stock edges though the Bark River guys are the clear winner.
Some Busse-Kin knives have great edges but some have had real stinkers as well.

What it is going to come down to is performance and I would have to say that these kind of knives are Busse-Kins bread and Butter so it will be a hard job
to push them out of the spot of top dog.

On a side note ,isn't it great that these 2 made in the USA knives?

So what will your choice be ,SOD or Bravo2?

Which 7 incher will you buy
single choice

I voted for the SOD, but I really don't know too much about the Bravo 2 though. I'm sure its a nice knife though, but I just love the Scrapyard knives.

I also voted for the SOD. I'm not a fan of the Bark River knives, their looks never appealed to me, and with all the stuff about MS lately, I would not give my money to anyone like that.

I had to say both. Mainly because I have a Bravo 2 that just arrived waiting for me at home. But I ordered The SOD LE and CG as well, and I think that once I have it, that I'll like the SOD LE a little more based on how much I favor my DFLE. I'm sure I'll like the B2 a lot too, but the SOD is gunna be great!

So did I Jeff. I was wondering what he was refering to. Although it really doesn't affect me. About the only knives I buy anymore are Scrapyards with a rare Swamp Rat purchase (only have two) and an even rarer Busse Combat purchase (only have 1)

There's my problem. I spend all of my time on this forum. None on KF and only a small amount on BF.

Back to the topic of Unsubs post. I voted on the SOD (purchased a black one), but that my not have been a fair vote since I never considered getting a Bravo2.

Crazy stuff, has been going on for many years. People coming out of the wood-works, telling there side of the stories. Stuff like that reflects as a person to me, too other's it does not.

I said the SOD only, simply because I have to be selective in what I buy, due to shortage of funds. I've looked over the Bravo 2, in comparison to the SOD, and although it is kinda nice, the price and quality of the SOD outweighs the BRKT in my view.
