So I was talking to my Dad about my new Dogfatherthe other day, and he being an engineer with a broad knowlage of materials and things, he was in amazingment about the steel that our mighty Scrapyard goods are made of. so after I got off the phone talking to him I sat down and Googled away. I found that SR-77 is about the coolest toughest stuff you can put an edge on. My searching took me in to tooling, die makers, machinist, and mechanics chat sites and forums the constant theme was the toughness and shock and impact resistance of S-7.

So take these facts and add Dan's magic baking secret(the heat treat process) and you have one heck of an knife.

Good stuff! It's interesting that Angel Sword also uses some type of low-temp curing process. The Angel Sword videos are pretty neat as well.

Thanks!

Kraz,
Did you SEE some of those Angel Swords?! Holy cow!
Bottom-of-the-line wakazashi swords *start* at $1295!
(S7 shock steel, RC 57)

All those AKs & Rucks on BF are driving me nuts for a Sword!
I need a ScrapYard Sword!

Bizzarely enough, Angel Sword is maybe 30 minutes from my house here in Austin and I never knew they existed! Not only do they make really nice, really expensive swords but they make some pretty nice (and expensive!) knives too.

I could get real excited about a SR-77 katana-style sword with the res C grip <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I think that just about every red-blooded normal thinking member of this forum would quickly agree about an SR-77 katana-styled sword.

by the way I glad everybody likes the info.

Yeah, I have two Valiant kopis' coming someday. One is spring steel and the other one is damascus. They should be nice.(if they ever show up, grrrr)
