i listen to a lot of music

www.lastfm.com/user/meshmdz

and i like to be in the field with my blades. i usually have my iPod on me when Im on liberty and enjoying the outdoors. so it made me think, what are you DAWGS rocking!!!!

lately, as you can tell on my Last.FM page (great page), I've been into metal. slipknot, stabbing westward, full deveil jacket, manson, etc.. although, i have thrown some good alternative rock in there too. july for kings, goo goo dolls, virgin millionaires, etc.

what about you dawgs!!!!

Hey reconseed - how about some old 60s stuff ? Credence-Hendrix- Joplin- Clapton etc !! Now- I listen to country..........yup - stone cold Sugarland- Urban- Mc Graw - Trace........oh well - probably not real popular here. But- back in the day ( 60s) - we had some good stuff. I still like it loud though........most likely cause I blew my eardrums out in the 60s.

Country is good to listen to...if you're in another country when listening!

Nah, it's okay, I guess...not my cup of meat.

I like just about everything but country.

I've got tinnitus from years of playing in a band. The constant ringing actually accentuates some songs.

Ya nailed me on that one is OK though as I bet you like the 60s stuff AND- your stuff sounds good to these old ears too

I like most music. Lots of what's been mentioned already but I confess...Huge Metallica fan. I know know, I'm ready for the verbal beat down now-lol. Lately however I've been getting into Christian alternative and Anberlin is up there on the list. Also the Almost, Relient K, etc. Yet a little Kings of Leon slips in there too.

I like Robert Earl Keen...does that help? :-D

Like I said, I'm not a huge country fan...Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard...all tolerable if not favorites.

New country...forget it.

Classic Rock? Sure. Beatles, Stones, Doors, Zep, Hendrix, Cream, Deep Purple, etc...

Metallica used to be a heck of a band...before the Black album.

Master of Puppets is still one of the all time greats, IMHO.

I've met them. They're, um...interesting.

Looks like I'm the most "out there" in a land of rock-n-roll and metal fans. :P Favorite artist is probably Vangelis. Also like Bjorn Lynne ("sci-fi and fantasy rock"), Enya, most classical but especially Tchaikovsky. Game soundtracks, quite a few of those in either orchestral or synthed flavors. I'm a huge fan of mod tunes, so I'm a fan of the classics there like the Future Crew guys, Karsten Koch, Straylight. Last night I spent about 3 hours listening to "Love & Death" by Michael van den Bos (aow-lovdeath.it) on repeat.

I'm not a big fan of most rock or metal with lyrics, because the words are either difficult for me to pick out or I'd rather not know what they're on about. *shrug*

I am a child of the early Metallica==me and my friends were the ones that were dubbing their stuff and passing it around which led to a lot more exposure in the OKC area back in the day. I still like Metallica if it is pre-Black album. I also like G&R, Zeplin, Flyod, Doors, CCW, Hendrix, and anything with good guitar rip chords. Now country--anything pre Garth Brooks, and yes I actually like some of Toby Keiths songs but they are few and far between.

I'm mostly into classical music, Beethoven, Strauss, Mozart, etc...
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd, and surprisingly a
lot of Canadian Maritime Celtic music.
Don't care much for the new Country music, but I really like Johnny Cash.
Weird eh?
Grew up on Classical Rock, Punk and Metal, but not really into it anymore.

Johnny Cash rocks!!!

We used to see him at our state fair in Nebraska when I was a kid and he put on a hell of a show back then, but back then I was a kid and didn't really like him at the time.

Johnny Cash did some of the soundtrack for The Hunted.
Was pretty cool.

My dad used to play and sing the older JC songs all the time.
Him and his friends would get together on a Saturday night, the Rye
and guitars would come out and pretty soon JC songs would be fillin the air.

I was young at that time, and didn't care too much, but now I remember those
times fondly.

Cheers

I listen to some metal,a lot of hardcore, and some death metal/progressive.
But I also like some alternative and other random stuff.
(jack Johnson, Lil' Wayne)

some specific examples...
Norma Jean, The chariot, Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Job for a cowboy and Gwen Stacey.
I mostly like small unsigned bands, but those are some more popular examples.

I'm not sure that really is a genre. Unfortunately the songs closest in style that I have are not freebies.

Are you not familiar with trance at all? Check out
"Biochemical Structure", from the album Talisman, by Divinorum (aka Bjorn Lynne).

I am also a big fan of Tool and early Metallica (I think they started going down hill with And Justice For All...) For the Black Album and beyond, I like to think that it is a different band with the same name...

On a little slower side, anyone who likes southern rock should check out Drive By Truckers, specifically the album Decoration Day. Great lyrics.
