Thanks again. I'm waiting for that Machete coat, got some Trams on the way. I also want some of the add-on pouches for the bag. The wrap I learned here at the Yard, from a DotD thread, I find it comfy but I'll update once I really put it to use.

I'd like to see your collection Jeff, curious about which bags for what. This one is perfect for small trips, I've got one scheduled in a week. Testing time!

I'll try to take a pic or two when I have time, I actually have quite a few Maxpedition pouches and bags, I went a little nuts for a while on them... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> No regrets though! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You happy with that IWB 19 set up Vance?

yes.it's the summer special II. i prefer my vmII more. it has a much wider space between the belt loop & rides much better. it makes carrying a full sized 1911 no problem

Obama saw your post Vic, sorry, he's with the park:

[Linked Image from images.huffingtonpost.com]

funniest thing i've seen all day.

i've got 2 of these regular versipacks.i've had'em for 2-3 years now.one of them pulls duty as a BOB/PSK in my trunk.i like that i can wear it over the shoulder or on my hip with its waist and thigh strap.VERSATILE is the word.
OLD PIC.
[Linked Image from i234.photobucket.com]

anything much bigger than that and i prefer a small pack like the 2 on the right here.CSM GEAR ASSAULT PACK & KIFARU E&E PACK.
[Linked Image from i234.photobucket.com]

when i dont need versatility or the added room i prefer a fanny pack over something over the waist.for me it stays out of the way more and is more secure.CSM GEAR FANNY PACK
[Linked Image from i234.photobucket.com]

this isnt what it was really made for but i really like how it works for over the shoulder carry.i little more open space if needed.a spec-ops brand S.O.B. {soldiers optimized butt pack}

next to my countycomm pack that fell apart.

i like it a lot although i only own 2 pieces of gear from him.i liked the fanny pack he makes so much i bought a second.no frills,no BS and top notch quality.think of CSM as the mom and pop version of tactical nylon and i happen to have an article on here CSM GEAR that i kept years ago, along with other manufacturers.

the company is owned and the gear made by a guy named Retired Navy Chief Mike McMillan.iy says he was a corpsman with recon marines and ended up as chief CQB instructor at the marine corps. spec-ops training group and served from 1982-2004.

thats when he opened up shop in his garage next to the navy special warfare base.

apparently CSM stands for "Celar Silens Mortalis" which means "swift, silent, deadly" which according to them is the motto of the recon community.
i never knew that.

in mikes own words ......

"most of my gear is very, very simple.i try and keep it that way.i'll give you an example.the U.S. Customs Dept. just bought a bunch of slings and every sling came with a DVD on how to mount it on their weapons.to me,thats retarded.the operator has enough to think about without having to think about how to put on his gear.if you need a DVD to tell you how to mount a sling...."

so basically its a small shop run by him and his wife only and most of his work is for other troops but he does sell to the public.i always like supporting the mom and pop type outfits whether it be knives, nylon or the local pharmacy.

probably more info than you wanted or where prepared for but like i said i had the article laying around so......

Mike's a GREAT guy, hooked me up MANY times. He likes to keep it simple. Tried talking him into dropping the outside pouch off his aid bag and adding MOLLE. Idea kind of died off. They do run a family business and everything is really friendly.

WOW!
it has been a LONG time.

just got internet back.

N1.
hows the kifaru treating you?
last I heard you had some problems with it. (yeah it really has been a while)

so the jumbo really is that good huh?

I got a maratac range bag from countycoom and LOVE it.
but I feel I need something smaller and easier to carry.

Also, (I know N1 said they were limited run) I've been interested in the spec-ops SOB from the moment I saw it.
I wonder if I could find one of them around.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
it's good to be back.
