It is a sweet knife, I picked one of them up and they are a nice overall blade. Built like a Mack truck, and pretty heavy as well. I am really looking forward to Scrapper5 with its nice large choil. SAR4 does not offer such a feature.

The NMSFNO, however, shows plenty in stock, and THAT's the real source of temptation for me....

how long have those guys actually been available, now?

That one is a real sleeper in some ways and a good deal as far as INFI goes. It is a great mid-size camp blade, and I prefer the CG grade in that particular model. Here, allow me to tempt you a little on that front...

I resisted it for a while, but really, the Busse NMSFNO is a lot of knife for the money. I'm glad I finally got one.

Got enough high capacity magazines for the coming apocalypse, Guyon?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

All right, I started this thread and I'll have to show some backbone.

Yes that is one beautiful blade, but...it's soooo big, it's a bruiser...men look what it's doing...a RMD can do all that...plus a skinny ash is cheaper and will chop a lot better for sure. On top of that, this S5 will do all that, maybe with more comfort with the mudders.

We don't need the Sar 4 I say...even if those handles are so awesome and so pretty...and a CG comes out for like $230...right? I'm right...help me all???

Horn Dog, I expected more from you...I was ready to see you break on the S5, you're only human after all, but now the Sar 4 too?? Need I bring up the "No knives until blade" oath you took??? :0

he he heeee...been drinking a little and trying to stay away from bussecompanystore.com!

Can one ever *really* have too many high-cap mags?

RN, keep fighting the good fight, brother! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go fondle my SAR4 some more.

Ha ha, I believe RN by stating the S5 will achieve all said goals. I think some people just love the weight and style the SAR4 brings. I believe I will love both of these knives.

I'm just messin' with RN. You're right that lots of quality knives will do similar work at a cheaper price. One of my favorites in this length is the Ratmandu. Not as hefty a blade, but a workhorse nonetheless.

That said, the SAR4 does have a unique feel all its own.

And just in case you missed the news...

LOL...good times...

On a more serious note, $400 is just too much for me, but a CG a bit north of two might be in strking distance. Seems like we are all rolling in good steel. Dan's been churning out the blades and even a Swamp Rat is near and hopefully the rodent line won't be too far off either.

Life is good...

I still have not ordered any knife since I got the pricey Busse HG55LE. As tempting as the SAR4 is now that I see just how big it is, I just can't afford it. But if the S5 becomes available before Blade, I will order at least one.

Passing on the S5 would be a mistake I think.

This looks like it will be a classic blade.

Plus, If they come out with a CG Sar4 down the road, I figure you'll have it looking like an LE in less than a day HD...for a lot less.
