Yes, it is, but they are alot like a Glock. SIGs DAO is very nice.

i believe the xd's semi cocked action was dubbed single action rather than double action by some arbitrary measure...i have no idea where i read that or the details.

I like a short pull cocked action, not a long pull double action. I have not fired the XD, but I have fired other DAOs and I hate them.

Ok I guess the pull reason will do.

I don't know Mag, I got mine in hand right now and I don't think thare is any further cocking with the trigger pull, just the dropping of all the internal saftey blocks and such, prior to the sear dropping out of the firing pin's way. Now please understand I don't want try to call you out or anything but I am pretty darn sure it is a true SAO.

We all have our ways. I don't even like to fire my revolvers double action. I shoot so much better shooting single action. Every handgun I own has a hammer and can fire single action except my Kel-tec, which I can't hit anything at all with unless it is big and close. I sometimes pratice double action at close range with it and my revolvers. Beyond 10 yds, forget it.

If it's like a single action trigger pull, that would be fine. I like the reduced weight and and high capacity of the XD. I need to go try one and see how the trigger feels.

The XD trigger feels great a clean crisp break, in all honesty my Dad and I came to the conclusion that it was just a hair under as far as smoothness to his SIG P220 (a darn fine trigger)that had 2 or 3 thousand rounds and at the time my XD was only at about 600 rounds.
