Very nice DJ! Don't see many of those Double Eagles around here.

Thanks rth! I ran into that one about 10 years ago. I couldn't pass it up.

I have this thing for 1911 .45's.
Top left: pre Series 70 Colt Commander; Bottom left: Series 70 MKIV Gold Cup
Top right: Colt Double Eagle; Bottom right: Springfield Armory 1911A1, with some mods done to her.

I even like "old" .45's
Top one is a Cimarron SAA in .45 Colt, bottom one is a Colt 3rd Generation SAA .45 Colt

Welcome Fred!

I have not chronographed the 460V. I've never shot anything with the 460V but pumpkins and cans. Unfortunately, they do not make the 460V anymore. It carries well in a shoulder holster and not too bad on a belt. They still make the snub nose though. Crazy to think that it has NEARLY as much energy at the muzzle as a .308 Win.

Nice collection! I don't have any 1911's. My dad inherited an old US Army 1911, manufactured by Singer, I think. I know it's not a Colt manufacture.

My grandpa carried it religiously when he was fishing and digging ginseng. It's no safequeen.

Edited: Only 500 Singer manufactured were made. I'll bet it's NOT one of those! And seems like I remember it being a typewriter maker, so probably Remington Rand.

Those are some beautiful examples of Old Slabsides. I like just about any pistol, but there is just something magical about a 1911 that makes you want to use and carry it everywhere.

The Commander is my carry gun, the Gold Cup is my "Sunday-go-to-
Meetin'" gun, the Springfield was going to be a pin gun but I never got that far with it, and the Double Eagle is my workhorse gun.

I've been drooling over the new Remington 1911, but does a guy really need 5 .45 automatics?
