You are in FL so I am assuming you are salt water fishing, but then again, Florida has some nice freshwater, too. Since Busse doesn't offer any stainless models, that Spyderco Salt sounds like the one. With some care, INFI should handle it fine, but it won't be as rust resistant as the H1 steel.

This brings up a good point - I've been thinking about a fishing knife to get as well, but I do mostly freshwater, where salt corrosion isn't a concern. Still, I wonder if I'd be better off going with one of the 154CM offerings from the Swamp or the Yard. There are a couple of INFI designs I've seen that would make awesome knives for trout fishing, though...

The Bird Dog is the one. It is a perfect fishing knife and good for small game, too.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Yeah the bird dog definitely caught my eye - will be keeping an eye out for them at BLADE, I guess...

It's one of those styles that you either love or hate...
Too many lumps, bumps and curves on that blade AFAIC. But some people seem to love it.

When it comes to Sus-Scrofa's beauty is in the eye of the beer holder!!

Every time I read the name of the knife (sus-scroFa), the "F" always looks like a "T" to me....

And, in my eyes, that mis-reading describes about how attractive that knife looks

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I'm going to go with the H1 for a fishing knife and get a Busse that I really like. The other advantage of the H1 is it is bright yellow and easy to find if dropped in the water and its only $100 if I lose it rather than $200+ for a busse.

I do like the NMSFNO but there is only one type left...? Decisions, decisions.

They didn't really talk me out of buying it...I was on the fence already and there are other Busse's I like more....But the more i thought about salt water use and the chance of losing it I changed my mind and decided to go another route. I still like the SS and may get one. Just not for my fishing knife.

A lot of them just didn't prefer the look of the knife but if you are like me and it appeals to you, i wouldn't hesitate on getting one. It's still a Busse and still Infi!

Good luck!

With all this talk about the SS, I stopped by the Busse store to take a look at the "freak." I must say that to me, based on looks, it isn't appealing. I know it was mentioned that the helicopter guys like it. What's the reasoning behind that. What uses does this design lend itself to. Knotslip mentioned fishing...is that because of the straight edge? Not being a fisherman, why wouldn't an S5 be good for fishing? Too long a blade?

I just posted my "I'll take it" on a bird dog for sale... now just waiting to get info to send payment....

Anyone else noticed there are some really good deals going on the BF exchange recently? Lots of stuff selling below cost, which isn't supposed to happen with Bussekin blades
