You got that right! The good thing is, with that clip, I can just pull the whole sheath right out to sheath the knife, and then slip it back in. I've found that to be the safest way.

you know i ended up doing the same thing for my NMSFNO. just couldnt wait to carry it around and ended up using a whole roll of athletic tape to make a drop leg sheath and mine worked pretty good except there was no retention
