You got that right! The good thing is, with that clip, I can just pull the whole sheath right out to sheath the knife, and then slip it back in. I've found that to be the safest way.

you know i ended up doing the same thing for my NMSFNO. just couldnt wait to carry it around and ended up using a whole roll of athletic tape to make a drop leg sheath and mine worked pretty good except there was no retention
When was the last time you steped out in the woods?

that's cool. i was thinking about doing something like that. i even have the same type of clip sitting around. may have to grab some duct tape and see what happens.
My most valuable knife (Rat Mastiff) still rides in one. It's held up well for years now. If anyone wants to make one, click the link in my sig for a how-to.
