You can strip it yourself and put a convex edge on it. It will look like this:

That's not a big job, if you can live with the rough steel in the unground areas of the blade, ricasso, and pommel. It's a lot less work than doing a full convex grind on the blade.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

...thanks - but I am looking for the full convex job, and it's well beyond my meager skills...

The pic in your link was not a full convex job.

Hey there Horn Dog,
That second black handled FBM, has that blade been refinished?
It sort of looks blued or something to me.
Or maybe just the standard Busse undercoat?
The ground portion of the blade looks different (glossier for one) than the ricasso and butt - almost like the blade is blued and the ricasso and butt are Busse undercoated or parkerized.
Or is that an optical illusion?

It is just left stripped and rough except for the blade. The fully convexed blade is shiny satin finished.

I can understand both sides. Some makers dont feel their knives need "improving".

If you don't mind leaving the ricasso and pommel in the rough. I don't have the tools for removing and reattaching the scales, so I can't sand the tang area flat and smooth. I am not in Jeremy's league. Have you tried Ban?
