Something to be said about technology.
It it works, then it ain't broke, and you don't need to fix it.

If it don't work, then, get one that works.

I like this rifle. Thinking of picking one up at next years gun show
here in town.

Cheers.

Ouch! I've fired one of those and it kicks like a you know what.

More your speed perhaps?

Like em both.
Don't mind me folks, just trying to catch up with the new thread.
Been pre-occupied with things a bit lately.
Job, new car shopping, mom-in-law visiting, Canada Day celebrations,
house repairs....mundane things like that which sort of creep into
my computer and forum time...

Cheers

Thats a sweet #5 carbine. I got one like that in 1998 at Roses Dept store, Navy Arms rechambered in .308 with new stock. Paid like $139.99 for it, but traded it for an AK-47.

I'd like to get a RMD. I have a Camp Tramp though and was wondering how similar they are? If I have the CT is it worth while to get a RMD? Thoughts?

CT is a fair bit bigger than the RMD.
I have both, and I would suggest that you should get both.
However, having said that, I think that the S5 is going to
give the RMD a good run for it's money.

Heck, you've got the big diamond there, get a couple of rubies,
one for each side...

Roses had some sweet deals on surplus guns. It's a shame they don't sell them anymore.

I remember $29 Mosin Nagants, $49 Lee Enfields, and $69 Russian SKS's. Ahhhh the 90's....

Ok, my turn to do a small pic post.
A few purchases, a few trades, even a contest win and my knife collection
looks a bit different today than it did at Christmas.

Be warned, these are crappy pics. Took them in the office this morning
well before anyone came in (didn't want anyone to get jealous), so they
were rushed.
No action shots, but I can tell you that these are definitely not "safe queens"

The lot since Christmas

The small ones. The top one is a DP Woodsman that I won in a contest,
the rest are folders that I've acquired and traded for. The bottom is
the new Mini Manix 2 offering from Spyderco.

These two military models (Khukri House World War edition and Kabar Army)
have been used a fair bit. No combat though, unless you count demolishing
trees as combat.

Took these two to Newfoundland. Was concerned about taking my Bussekins and
NWA's on the plane. Things disappear, even in checked luggage. I didn't have
to worry though. Everything turned up where it was supposed to be. Turns out
one of my son-in-law's friends collects Bussekins too, so we had his to play
with.

Someone was interested in the difference in size between a Ratmandu and a
Camp Tramp. The RMD is the third up from the bottom, and the CT is the
third down from the top.

Well, I may not be getting my S5's today but I did receive my SS4. Sweet knife- feels great in my hand. I am glad I purchased this guy.

I am finding that pictures do not do most knives justice....There is just something about the way they feel in your hand that makes a huge difference. Anyone else feel this way?

Thanks Clint I plan to use this one but I don't know if I'll be chopping wood with it so my coating might last a while.
