What would everyone suggest as a good EDC fixed blade?
I'm really considering carrying fixed all the time. SS4! INFI & Res-C (lightweight) what more could ya want? To use it for both utility and self defense. Honestly, mainly self defense.

To use it for both utility and self defense.
Honestly, mainly self defense. SS4 would be good for that. S5 would have a little more reach a be a bit bigger. Or you can do like I did and conceal carry a DFLE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> (I just did it once, because I could)

P, sorry to hear about the gf dog. Our dogs are our children. A few years ago we lost three minnie dots that were all within a few months of each other. Old age does catch up to them. I can not even tell you how hard it was on me and the wife.
