Who does mods on Busse blades now? If I get this right, Ban no longer does them? I have a CGFBM that has standard handles. I have been thinking of a convex edge and bigger handles.

Send him an email and see what he says, couldn't hurt.

I think I found the next multi-tool I want to get... this one will be on my Christmas list this year. I handled one at REI today, and It feels similar in size to the Leatherman Skeletool, but felt more solid. Very cool little multi tool with a decent size usable blade.

sweet, mm. I need to look at the new multitools. I still have an original gerber multiplier (the hand pinching kind ) and an old leatherman supertool.

It was kind of odd - everything was liner lock. The blade, screwdrivers, all of it. Never saw a liner lock screwdriver before.

So I've had all these house repairs to do, and I tackled another small one today...

The storm knocked a hole in the dome that covers the exhaust fan in my attic. Naturally, none of the local stores carries replacement domes, and since the fan itself was working perfectly, I was unwilling sacrifice neither the work to install a new fan nor the money to buy a new fan.

So I had to improvise.

In true redneck fashion, I present... "There, I Fixed It!"

Not a chance in hades of making that my future.... all through school, starting at about 12 years old, I would regularly work on job sites with my dad. When other kids were flipping burgers or scanning groceries, I was putting shingles on a house, laying brick, pouring concrete, or wiring lights....

I learned how to do an awful lot of work on my own home....

And decided I wanted to go to college I'm WAY too lazy to do that stuff as a career. I pretty much got ripped off on one of my storm repairs because I was unwilling to put in the amount of time it would have taken me to do the repair myself, and a lack of the proper tools and equipment. Next time, after seeing the way I got scammed, I will do it myself, even if I have to buy a thousand bucks worth of tools.

I guess, when you have NEVER paid someone to fix ANYTHING on your house, it's actually pretty easy to get ripped off, because you have absolutely no idea how much that kind of stuff SHOULD cost since you've been DIY'ing it all those years.
