I carried a knife to school basically every day.
Never cut anyone. Strange how that works.
I also saw a kid cut himself BAD with a utility knife. Had to go to the emergency room and get a bunch of stitches.
Also picked up a good portion of a kids thumb that he zipped off with the table saw in shop class.
No pocket knife injuries though....

Peasy and CBC:
Right now my wife us using an Olympus SP570 UZ with a 20 x OPTICAL zoom. She uses very few of the functions of the camera. She takes animal pictures from the Jeep at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge here in S.E. Missouri. She gets good pictures from it, nothing wrong with it but she has always wanted a cannon. She does not think she could hold a Digital SLR steady enough for some shots, plus the lenses are not cheap. I saw where Cannon has came out with a new 20 power zoom camera for about $400.00. THAT is within our range. My question is this... Based upon what I said above, would the Cannon do better, and be a better camera than the Olympus. Remember, nothing fancy or trick about her picture taking, she just wants to be able to reach out and get the picture w/out shake.
Thanks Randy The Canon Sx20is will do the trick. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> The only thing I don't like about it, is the fact that it takes AA batteries. Funny I like replaceable batteries. I have a question is there anything wrong with the Olympus? Just not sure why you are looking for a new camera. What features does your wife not like with the Olympus or what features is she hoping to improve upon?

Blanket school rules are created by school administrators who REFUSE to do their jobs properly. I am not a fan of zero tolerance policies, however I think some of it goes back to parents. In some school districts the vocal minority of parents help push these policies. In others you have disinterested parents that consider schools a baby sitting service and any problems that happen at school are the school's problem.

Mine was from a joint called "Apollo Burger". They have the best bacon, not that precooked crap.
