It is REAL cold to be still hunting in late December/early Jan, but at least it is nice and quiet out there.

Still trying to decide on a .308 to pick up. A guy i know showed up with a new Mossberg Atr100 that he picked up for $300 with the scope. I figure that's not bad for a plinker. Maybe with some trigger time I can think about a upgrade.

i had a professor in college who sent out emails protesting the bear hunts in nj. bears are/were a pest in nj and on reading the email it struck me that bear hunting would be something i'd like to try.

Bear hunting would be awesome.
No bears around here though. Have to travel west for those.
We do have some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the world though.

Hopefully can get into the woods this weekend. Been a while. Spend too much time in the fields, less in the woods lately. I'd love to go camping. Just getting to be nice out for that.
