So, Mag, without "bashing" what are some of the complaints?

Seriously, a lot of their stuff seems to me like silly Dork Ops fashion for those who fancy themselves as "rollin' with the heavies".

(Of course, they also have some seriously neat gear [at outrageous prices].)

I don't want to dress like a "mall ninja" but I do get a kick out of outdoorsy "technical" clothing that looks great around town as well.

My favorite pair of pants are Riggs Rangers (I own two pairs!) I wear them hiking, camping, and to work at the office (we have a rather lax dress code. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

But at least you get much better designed outerwear for the money.

It seems that any lasting costs more.

I'm used to spending pennies and replacing every few months.

Quality gear will laster longer than crap gear – how long that will be depends a lot on how you use it. For example, if you contantly bushwhack through brambles and devil's club, and "glissade" down rock slopes, nothing will last long.

Good point. I'm generally pretty good to my gear. I just like to know it won't crap out on me when I need to push it.

i have only spent that kind of money on leather. my warmest coat was a czech surplus that cost me about $15 at sportsmans guide. i grew out of it, but i still have the matching hat and it rocks.
