gerber doesn't look bad, might consider one if it came without serrations. i wonder if the handle is hard rubber or plastic. i'm sharpening a buck folder for a friend with rubber handles (similar feel to res-c), it feels good.

the finish under the SOD is super clean, no dimples or bad machine marks. call me crazy but i like the look of the dimples when you strip a coated blade

i wanna get the harbor freight belt sander...i know its not the greatest but all i need is to keep an edge... and a belt sander is so much faster and easier from all ive heard

i wish there was someone in my area who could show me how.. most of us never had someone to show us and we learned just fine. it's pretty intuitive. you will ruin a few tips and edges, but start with cheap stuff until you get the idea.
