Has anyone had the edge of the DF Roll chopping wood?

If so how bad was it?

Thanks...

I have chopped very hard liveoak with mine and had no edge roll or damage of any kind.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Thanks Horn Dog, I've seen a lot of the stuff you chopped and the FBM chop off...

Even cutting through a door did not roll the edge! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

little off topic, but related

someone did a comparison test including a ss4 and swamp rat howler. the ss4 took some edge damage on bone where the howler's just had some slight rolling. infi beaten by sr101?

Any details? First that comes to mind is edge profile. Second is testing differences. A slight change in contact angle could vary the outcome.

First thing, I wonder which knife was used for which cut. If their rabbits are like ours, then the legs will be pretty lightweight bones, the neck would be tougher. A chop through a leg bone could not be compared to cutting the head off due to the bone structure, thickness and variety of impact angles.

The edge from what I can make out does show a bit of a roll, however comparing the knife in the review to the stock photo from the junk yard site shows quite a difference in edge grinds.. Wonder if he re profiled the knife to a finer edge to improve slicing without thinking about the other consequences.

Not sure what else....

Every time I refresh the main page... I think this post is called "Egg Roll" when I'm scanning down the page. I must be slightly dislexic.

I did some chopping today w/ the DF, not a lot - but other than some slight wear to the finish, she's as good as new.
