Those pictures, generally, (especially the first two) could benefit from a clearer point of view and clearer conception of what you want to photograph, and what you want the picture to express. Don't try to fit everything. Keep it tightly focused.

Well, even though I really enjoy wedding photography, and I can do it well, there's a lot to running a wedding photography business that isn't entirely to my taste. The business is very fashion conscious, very style conscious, very image conscious, very design conscious.

Landing clients in wedding photography is generally a complex dance of subtle social interactions, involving both high level social skills and a willingness to compromise yourself.

The business involves so much diddling with websites, with complex contracts, with the color coordination, with the right fonts, with album design, with the layout and the furniture of the studio, and so on – it just isn't for me.

I've been looking for a business model with an endless stream of clients that are easy to get, where I don't have to wear a suit and a fancy watch and drive the right car and associate with the right people, a business where most of the negotiations are done after-the-fact instead of before, and where those negotiations are simple, with nothing significant at stake.

And then my ex's daughter started Peewee softball, and I thought I saw an opportunity to make the money of people photography, while shedding the lifestyle of a wedding photographer.

But this is still just in the early stages of exploration.

i know the best way to fix this would to get rid of as much dead space and better composition in future pictures, but how about ones that you have already taken... would cropping help at all?

In some cases, I'm sure it would.

As a generalization, it's not just about the cropping but also about the representation. You want to know exactly what you want to show and why, in order to say exactly what you want to say. This starts on the conceptual level, from the beginning, affecting more than just the cropping or framing.
