who or what company makes the best, most durable balisongs or butterfly knives? i think it would be cool for busse to make one as a prototype. i know id buy one. they could use INFI or SR101 (more preferred for this) and with the strength of that steel and its great edge retention, i think it would make for a killer addition to the busse family. but then again, they would be breaking from their traditional fixed blade stock...

any other good tough butterfly makers out there? what do they run for normally?

Spyderco and Benchmade both make some nice butterfly knives. They both have one that I would like to have but they are a little pricey.

I don't see any of the Busse family companies ever producing them. Balis are considered restricted; I recalled that Spyderco took a large hit over their Spiderfly knives. Here's a link I found describing what happened:

They can't import them but Butterfly knives made in the USA can be sold in states where they are not considered illegal. Many companies still sell and ship these knives - like Spyderco and Benchmade...They just will not ship them to states where they are restricted for obvious reasons.

And I must say that this makes no sense and is another stupid law put into place without any logic applied. Why can we make them and sell them here but it is illegal to import them and sell them? No idea. Maybe they are trying to boost the switchblade manufacturing business in the USA. Or maybe I have it all wrong...

Here's a link to the one I want from Spyderco and it is perfectly legal for them to ship it to folks cause it is made in Colorado (if not illegal in their state).

As much as I dislike Benchmade, once again, they make the best Balisong.

The BM42, around $160.

Enjoy every sandwich.

Stick with your DM Seed- these are too ninja. You need steel that works for your job. Like Tolly and Peter
