i don't even want to start getting hooked on watches. One metal addiction at a time.

I've been thinking about this one lately...I really like it.

The only problem with that for me is it is bracelet only, no straps for that dude.

Yeah, I like the band style and that's a requirement for me...I don't want to deal with any buckles or straps. I find this style easier to deal with.

Well guys...I'm afraid my watch budget has increased...While I can find many watches for <$500 (I bought the Nite Watch already & a few others) that are nice, I've decided that I have to have a Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster. I have fallen in love with this watch and decided that it will be my one expensive time piece. My brother bought a Rolex and has never regretted it so I'm thinking I'll really like this watch and not regret the purchase. I'll post the link here and you can see it and read about the technology that goes into it.
The price tag is $2700 - I know - Ouch!

Here's the link: Ball Watches

If you go under collections, then into the Engineer hydrocarbon collection, then look at the Spacemaster <-- that's the one. Also check out the technologies section.

Hmm, back before I was married and had a house payment etc etc I was able to buy and then sell a few high end watches...

Anyway, if you like that watch go for it, enough said. But, tritium will die out. I think if you are going to drop some dough on a watch it should be able to be passed down to your childern and your childrens childern etc. I just don't see that happening with a tritium watch. That is why I sold my Marathon and it ran like a top.

If I am ever blessed enough financially I would love to one day pick up a Rolex or something. The Rolex movement is super tough btw.

Your brother has done something cool, how fun will it be to 25 years from now look down at your wrist and see something that has been with you that long.

I don't own any knife that will ever last 25 years...but knives do wear, if you use them, a good watch is a lifetime investment.

I think you'll be happy with that one. Enjoy and congratulations!

Inside each knife is a new adventure waiting to be had...maybe some blood and probably some suture.

I bought a Rolex submariner back in 1988 (it was bought by an AF Colonel I worked with new in 1984. Still runs real good. Oh I also (posted this a while back somewheres) have a Oyster date just built in either 1945 or 1955. Paid $50.00. Yes, Fifty dollars. Then spend another 450 to have it "refurbished". Runs like a brand new watch, but it is one you need to wind everyday. BTW, the submariner has been to over 100 feet 3 times and beat up on sunken ships, coral, etc. I love it!
