That is some BEAUTIFUL work. Looks like it was a lot of work. That is the nicest Waki I have seen yet. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

It looks great but did it affect the tempering at all?
I would have thought that convexing the whole blade would void the warranty. Then again, the Bussekin stuff doesn't really need the warranty as long as you aren't steadily doing battle with killer I-Beams or cured cement samurai.

Sharpening or otherwise modifying a Busse with power tools voids the warranty as they can no longer vouch for the heat treat. At least that is my understanding.

i am more at ease popping the cherry on a satin blade.

maybe i'm alone.

Nope, satin blades clean up better than coated blades.
