I don't want this to end up being a really long post but I wanted to tell you guys about my SantaGanza experience, or basically how 2010 has started off pretty good for old Joe over here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

So, without going into details (which are best left for another time) I won a shop credit in the SantaGanza. It was enough to get a BWM. So as soon as I got the email from Amy I replied to her with my order.

The same day I got a PM from Ted Wilson...

About a year ago I saw a photo he took of a CGFBM with a Muddy blade and Snakeskin slabs. It was the most beautiful knife I've ever seen. I asked him to make me a huge version for my display at work and it's been there (frightening my coworkers) ever since. I lusted after that knife, it became my "grail".

I had seen one or two others on the exchange in the last year, but they were well out of my price range. I figured I'd have the money some day and go for it then but that would be way down the road. And that's ok. It's good to have something to look forward to. The funny thing is, every time I'd see one come up I'd think "Yeah, but it's not the one I've been staring at for months." I know that's dumb, they're all the same, but the picture Ted took was so awesome I really wanted THAT one.

So anyway, Ted sends me this PM the same day I ordered the BWM. He said, "You interested in trading a Muddy CGFBM for a BWM?"

I asked him if it was the FBM from the picture and he said it was.

So, we talk about the generosity of the dogs here... but are you kidding me?!!!

That was such a cool thing for him to do, I was floored!

Now, don't get me wrong, the BWM is very nice, and if he had changed his mind any time during the trade I would have been just fine and happy with my knife. But come on, how could I pass that up?

So, today in the mail...

Booyah! (I'll take better pics when it's nicer out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />)

Thank you Ted for your very awesome gesture and thank you Jerry and the whole Busse family and crew for helping make it happen!

You're all "good people". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

One last thing... when it was being shipped I thought that I was going to "safe" this gal, but as soon as I held it in my hand I had this strong desire to use the hell out of it. So yeah, it'll be a user for sure!

2010's staring off pretty good. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That's what I'm talking about!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> CONGRATS!!!!

I saw you won and looked at you sig the other day. I was glad you had gotten close but that trade is a score. I can't even thing of a better way to obtain a grail knife. Hope to log on in 15 years and see your sons posting about dad's bad ace knife with the rare snakeskin handles.

Very cool!!!
