Another Airman in the family! Hopefully she'll still get that TS clearance even after the investigators see your arsenal up there! Just joshing!!!

Way to go Horn Dog! That Marine will really appreciate that knife.
Congrats on your daughter graduating from BMT. My son went through Lackland almost 5 years ago.
Any word on where she's going?

She arrived at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX today. She said it was quiet and nice. Instead of an open bay dorm, she shares a room with a Christian roomate, so she is very happy about that. Basic was so hard for her, Bonnie got seriously religious. Funny how that works. She will be in Operations Intelligence training for the next five months. I am happy for her.

From the looks of it you did a fine job raising them. Congrats and i wish you all the best.

Congrats on your daughters graduation.
And thanks for the gift to the deploying Marine, may he never need to use it in anger.
URAAH!

The Marine lost his father just a few years ago. He has had a few problems, but he is good kid. His mother and I are good friends. Tommy will do fine. He was in Marine ROTC at high school. He will be an outstanding Marine. And if ever there was an upgrade to the lengendary Ka-Bar, the Scrapyard Regulator is it. I gave him a Ka-Bar when he enlisted.
I still have my Ka-Bar I bought at the PX in 80.
Again, congrats & thanks Vic,you make me proud to be apart of the Yard.

I just got back from Lackland AFB last evening. I had been attending my daughter's BMT graduation. Upon my return, I learned that my former next door neighbor's son is leaving in a few days for Afghanistan with the Marines. He is still living next door. I got my Regulator today. It's a wicked fighter and a tough as nails knife. Just the thing for a combat marine. So I gave it to the young Marine today. I know he will need it more than I will.

Awesome HD! I'm sure that Marine will be well served with that Regulator.

Congrats to your daughter on her achievement. She will put that S5 to good use (have you taught her how to sharpen it?).

Congrats Vic, on BOTH your Daughters graduation and on giving the new Marine something that he can actually use, hopefully he'll ONLY have to use it around base/camp. And I imagine that Lackland has changed some since 1974 when I went through! She should have an exciting career in intel. REAL WORLD issues give you a sense that you ARE doing something worthwile.

I only recognized two things there: the Dorms and the view of downtown San Antonio from the obstacle course. Forty-three years is a long time. Most airplanes had propellers when I went through, and the Air Force itself was only 20 years old.
Here are over 800 new airmen taking the oath of enlistment.

Bonnie got the National Defense ribbon for enlisting in a time of conflict, and another ribbon just for completing basic. They gave us a stripe and a pay raise "back in the day".

Everything is hazy, as a light mist was falling that day.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
