Dogs:

The build up to the Blade Show is huge and at the same time, returning is almost as big. For the first time I am back to almost a normal schedule...10 hour days <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Anyway, as you have seen and have heard the Show was a hoot. Some of the highpoints include:

ColdOne getting me again with his challenge coin the first night I arrived...he is crafty and always thirsty…you should have seen the numerous Dogs that jumped on the coin wagon that night <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

The drinking with the Dogs and fun we had…I think I was sweating Bourbon for a week after the show... man you Dogs can put it away <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Winning the Cigar Ash contest again all those Hogs and Rats was so cool. I was in the running with 3.5 inch’s when my dreams of a championship fell to the ground...but ColdOne did us proud even if he did burn his fingers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

The Inductions were great and I got to drink some Pappy with some very fine Dogs...nothing better...thanks again gents. By the way your wive and signifcant others were very charming...good for you

I got to see Pvt. Klink, aka Tom be at a loss for words in front of his lovely wife of 25 years at a special presentation…amazing and hard to believe. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Cigar Smoker gave me a very nice cigar and I had to smoke it with the Dogs ...it was so sooooo good <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

The ScrapIzashi was a big hit and I will be bringing it to store in the near future with the performance video that will amaze you ...it did me

There are just so many things, and truly good memories that came from this show it will be a very long time before that much fun can happen again or at least a year for sure

By the way I am working on a newer idea that came form discussions I had with some Dogs at the show and I hope to have that out in the near future.

Allow me to raise my glass to those Dogs that joined me at the Blade Show and to those Dogs that held down the Yard and kept the forum alive and fun...I salute you all

Cheers
Dan

Welcome back Dan, I hope to be able to join in the fun next year, will certainly make sure to acquire a challenge coin before I do so <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

But you can level with us, you left the coin at home as a crafty marketing ploy (get the customers drunk and they'll buy more). At least thats how you should spin it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I wish I had been able to go, but this is definitely the worst news for my wallet in months, and the best news EVAR!

Again, Dan shows he IS concerned for the folks that buy his product, and I don't mean just the money side! How many CEO'S would constantly take the time to develope a dialog with "their folks" the way Dan does. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

So I say two Dog Fathers Up for Dan the Diver, may he constantly plunge to new depths in his never ending quest to provide FANTASTIC "performance to price ratio" steel! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

One year I am going to make it to Blade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

My heart aches every year at this time because I can't make it there. But you just watch...maybe in two years I will be all straightened out enough to make that Blade show.

And the ONLY thing that drives me is to meet Dan and all the other Dogs from here. Being here since 2006 I have seen many come and go. I have seen many changes and I will say ALL for the good. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Scrap Yard started this forum with lofty ideals and goals. At times I thought maybe too high. But just then The Big Dog would come in and set The Yard back in a better place than before. I don't know how this Forum has been so blessed.

Oh, wait.... I do! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

It is because of Dan,and Patti and Renee and all the nameless workers who sweat day in and out to mold and make our steel. The Moderators who set the standards we all adhere to. And all of the many Dogs who come here and discover what it is that makes this place so different. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

It is us. Every of us who love this Yard and what it represents to us individually. It is why we come here to talk and laugh. To show off and ask questions. To share our love of Scrap Yard Knives. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

God bless this Yard now and forever. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Heck.. I'm all misty now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

I had a great time at Blade meeting some of the Dogs. The induction dinner was AWESOME! Hopefully next year I'll be able to meet a few more and spend more time before the dinner with the crowd.

Dan, thanks again for all you do for your customers. I'm glad I stumbled across this community, it really is a brotherhood of sorts.

I always have fun, and you always manage to Bring It, but this year was so special to me, being inducted and all, I'll never forget it!!! I have never been treated so much like a family member, and your and Jerry's hospitality is unmatched!!!!!! The cigar competition was a blast too, I'm proud to have participated, and plan to practice up for next year! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

For those of you who have never been, I urge you to try and go, it's definately worth it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Is that all??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> That's what I put in at my day job... and then I go home and make pants for Busse kin blades... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I echo what Prince said, and forecast that this will continue to be a place to share with others and our communal love of Dan and Jerry's blades.

And since I am an obedient (well ok, not ALWAYS) Dawg, LONG LIVE SCRAPYARDIA! May Dan continue to dive to ever greater depths to bring us the best "performance to price ratio" knives! Oh, and a re-issue of the TaliWacker would be nice, with small changes of course. Wouldn't want to intrude on the exclusiveness of THAT special blade.

Oh and we hope that your something new in the near future isn't <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/2weeks.gif" alt="" /> away! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.
