Arch, I know what you're talking about, but your posts are always informative and I thank you for them along with the other Dawgs.

Randy, I wish I still had the energy and interest to develop informative posts.

In the past I created very detailed survival related posts (for other sites) which took inordinate amounts of time to develop. Within the last year to year-and-a-half I've just lost the "momentum", and stopped contributing.

The Yard is an awesome place, but some of the other sites robbed me of the will to invest myself online. Maybe that will change eventually. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> . At any rate, I'm glad you enjoy the little bit of information I do post here . <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Arch, It's called burnout, and I know it well! Sometimes I just say "I've got to do the update threads again"! But I do it anyway, as my way of trying to contribute something useful to all the Great Dawgs I have met here. Most of the time I just ramble on and say nothing. But a few times I have been able to contribute something useful and that makes it good for me. Don't be worried about not having the "momentum" anymore. You will either have it again or you won't. No matter the outcome, the posts you DO make are full of very good and helpful information. Don't worry about the detailed "nuts and bolts" posts. They will take care of themselves and will show up when they are needed.

I for one thank you for EVERYTHING you post. Even your short posts are packed with tidbits of useful information. It's up to US to compile it for ourselves.

Hope this helps some and Don't get discouraged.

Randy

Arch and Skunk,

Your contributions are both an invaluable component of the Yard. Arch, take as long as you need to "re-energize". I for one eagerly await your posts.

Thanks Kmar. But I know most of the time the things I say are nothing more than talking on the DC but we do have some good discussions at times.

SH and Kmar - I sincerely appreciate you in turn appreciating my contribution here.

In the past 48 hours I've passed 18 kidney stones averaging BB size each. Its nice to have this place to keep my mind occupied with friends, interesting topics and of course knives...even if I don't feel up to writing much.

Yeah - it sucks. I just returned from a "post-op" doctor's appointment (had my 9th kidney surgery last Thursday). The x-ray shows A LOT of remaining pieces in my left kidney. Doc said another surgery in 3 months.

Unfortunately, I'm allergic to codeine and hydrocodone (the two pain meds doc's like to prescribe). It leaves me with Tylenol <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> .

I do like Phenegan for the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> though.

Thanks guys - I appreciate the concern.

I keep telling my wife "I have a back up (kidney)". She doesn't think that's funny even though I'm parodying the fact that I'm paranoid enough to carry a handgun AND a back up handgun.
