Looks very cool buddy, reminds me a little of the Habilis Bushtools Nomad !

Just think how cool one would be outta SR77 !

It does look a lot like it. Not sure how useful that one would be either though.

The one I made is 1095 steel. Might not be the best, but I didn't want to throw away a decent piece of steel.

Very cool project JJ. The reg tang is full 1/3 thick, it's very stout
Now that I've takin the time to appreciate it I will have to agree. The corners are radiused and the taper gives the balance that I like with the knife. It just kind of surprised me what she looked like almost completely naked.I should know better at my age.

The Regulator's tang is 8mm almost twice as thick at the 4.7mm tang of the M7 bayonet. It is almost a square cross section on the lowest part.

Very cool, the scales on the M7 just have screws holding them on?
I am planning on ordering an M7 myself for a bit of a conversion project. I won't post it here as it is definitely not family friendly but seeing the M7 without it's scales does help give me some ideas. Thanks!

Yep. Two screws is all that's holding the scales on.

That's really cool, I've never liked the M7, just a pointy piece of steel IMO, but that turned out nicely. I think it would make a good neck knife, or a boot blade. I'd probably carry it in my boot, as a JIC knife. I'm paranoid though, I will also have a razor blade under both of my IR flags on my ACUs... you know, JIC.

Ha, I'm glad to see I'm not the only person out there who hefts random pieces of metal and thinks "You know, you could make an awesome knife out of this."

Sounds like you may be a little paranoid, but according to Skunk Hunter, that makes you patriotic I guess.

I always look for things to do with my hands. (I know I left myself open with that one)

Making stuff is just more fun than watching TV or other dumbing things. Making knives is pretty fun too I found. This is my first knife mod and it is giving much needed practice for the bayonet mod I am working on.

I like it. Never know when a small piece of steel can come in handy.

I wonder if it would make any difference if you used Wassabi (Japanese) hot mustard, or what abut Tabasco sauce?
