yup... I'm thinking if I have a nice shortie shotgun and a handful of various adapters I can toss those if a go bag shoot off whatever ammo I can come across for a good price.

Sounds like a pretty good plan lazi. You MIGHT want to get yourself a good .22 revolver or pistol for potting small game.

Last year my nephew bought one of those Norinco double barrel coach guns.
After he went through three warranty replacements in less then 6 months he went to a pump.
I am trying to remember but I think Stoeger made a decent coach gun at one time.

I have often thought about getting a gunsmith to put in threads for screw in chokes for my mossy.
I figure sabot slugs through a rifled choke would be more accurate then cylinder bore and rifled slugs

If I was to design a short barrel for my shotty, it would have screw in chokes,so I could hut with it if I wanted. It would also have ghost ring sights on it.
For me, nothing comes on target faster then ghost ring sights

I'm thinking a longer .22 barrel insert would a good option if I go that route.. along with adapters in the popular pistol rounds. even if I don't have other firearms in the same caliber I could still shoot it if I come across it. again I'm not trying to go to war with zombies. just hit a target if i get board and want to go to the range.

You might well be right Bill. Although I had a 16 once that would keep gallon milk jug accuracy at 100 yards with a modified choke and rifled slugs.

Bill you might also try "Express" sights. You know, a large bead up front and a V rear sight. On the Redhawk I had that is the sight setup I went to and loved it! And they are pretty fast as well.

Some of the sabot slugs out there are harder then the rifled slugs, so more penetration on Mr. griz
