My neighbor - a mile down the road from me - had high-speed internet service for about 1 1/2 years before me. I'd give anything (within reason, of course) to have high-speed internet at home. Thought about the Hughes dish internet, but after talking to a couple people decided against that. We are supposed to be getting DSL in our area "within the next year" but that was 5 years ago when we got told that.

My wife works for AT&T, and she can't even find out anything. I want the UVerse cable and internet combo if we can get it, but I'm not holding my breath
