That's a general truth.

Well there are a lot of military packs, even within the US Military skid.

There is the old ALICE packs in medium and large, there is MOLLE I, MOLLE II, there is the Marine long patrol pack, there is the various packs by known makers that are used by the gov't.

I have used a lot of them and my favorite is the old ALICE series or the Camelback Motherload. Currently, and for about the last 5 years, it has been a Camelback Motherload 3 day pack in ACU with all kinds of stuff attached--it is bladder appropriate too. The thing about the ALICE is the medium can be worn with or without a frame but the large needs the frame. The ALICE stuff is cheap and good kit.

Had an old alice pack once--found in the garbage (yes, I am not a proud man). I couldn't get the hang of it--seemed heavy and painful, but that could just be how I jerry rigged it together <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

They were OK. I'm sure it will be a decent pack. It should be an improvement over the Alice pack.

took the dogs for a walk at the local lake and the girl went lizard hunting. Taught her how to make a lizard noose from a long weed. You can see it in her hand. They work great.
