A good example here is that planes have been hijacked with box cutters. If one person on that plane had had a gun it wouldn't of happened.

I don't as I don't shoot 1911's. I have friends that have them but I don't own one. I want a Glock 30.

So let´s talk about something not so depressing - guns!

Do you have a favorite 1911?

I understand that recommendations and favorite guns are subjective opinions, so I might use your experience as a guide but I´m not going to tell you that "what you told me was a good gun - is no good".

then they will ban umbrellas, glass bottles.....etc etc etc.

Favorite 1911? I would say MY Springfield Armory Ultra compact V10! It was much better "out of the box" than my 1991a1 Colt. But I like the balance of the longer one better. My FAVORITE SIZE is the commander. 4 1/4 inch barrel. Not so short that you loose all that much velocity and long enough to balance nicely! But like a dummy I sold the one I had. Any more If I carry It's gonna be my Sig P225 single stack 9mm the .45 springfield or my ppk. (but I have been known to carry my High Standard 22 Mag derringer)

Good one T1! You should find a way to incorporate that into your sig line!

I was talking a federal marshal or other security person. I wasn't recommending letting everyone have guns on a plane.

The state of Wisconsin has gone an entire deer hunting season without someone getting killed. That's great. There were over 600,000 hunters.

Allow me to restate that number. Over the last two months, the eighth largest army in the world - more men under arms than Iran; more than France and Germany combined - deployed to the woods of a single American state to help keep the deer menace at bay.

But that pales in comparison to the 750,000 who are in the woods of Pennsylvania this week. Michigan's 700,000 hunters have now returned home. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia, and it is literally the case that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world.
Point? America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security.

That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.
Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

I understand that allowing the general populace to carry concealed has the potential to cause a lot of problems. BUT I still feel that the LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, OF SOUND MIND should be allowed that courtesy.

Ok! I got that wrong. But again the circle closes: people are the problem.
