Now that you got a good basic starting place, you can start planning. Get yourself a good beavertail grip safety with the "Hump" on the bottom of it, just to ensure it gets depressed good enough to release. Then get you a "bobbed" hammer if it doesn't have one. Then get you a good adjustable trigger (and the trigger job to go along with it). Then you are gonna need a good set of night sights (personally I like the Ashley express sights). Bead front sight and a shallow V in the rear. Sounds crude perhaps but is mean fast to pick up. Then you will want to change out the thumb safety (don't go the ambi route, just something else to mess up) and a good set of pretty grips. Oh and flare the mag well.

Or if you don't want to go to all that trouble just get yourself a Kimber, Wilson combat, Les Bauer...

Oh and try different brands/weights of ammo. Personally I like the Cor-bon 200 grain "flying ashtray" rounds. Screaming out the pipe at around 1000fps if I remember correctly.(they're hot loads)
