I can see where Thanksgiving would be a problem. I love to eat, but not big on Thanksgiving for some reason. I'd reather be out in the woods.

my diet plan was only up to 54 carbs a day, no red meat only fish and chicken, lots of protein and soy products. lots of veggies, almost no fruits, lots and lots of water, and vitamins.

I could stand to loose 30-40lbs myself... i made a extremely slow start a couple months ago but hope to ramp it up soon. stopped recently due to a really sore shoulder. I think I maybe slept on it wrong but hurt to even turn my head to the left for about 4 days.

That seems to be my deal. Every time I try to dedicate myself, I end up with some kind of injury that keeps me out of the gym, or we go on vacation, or some holiday rolls around. Next thing I know I've fallen off the wagon. Not enough dedication on my part.

5 years ago I woke up and my neck hurt so bad I couldn't get out of bed. Wasn't sure what caused it at first. The doctor said it looked like it was an old traumatic injury like a car accident, but I've never had one. Looking back I think it was when I fell off a balcony 10 years ago and landed on the concrete chin first, broke my jaw in 3 places. That's gotta be what it is. My neck still hurts, I'm sure I'll need surgery soon.

I lost about 60 pounds a couple years ago, then gained it all back and then some. Now I'm trying to lose 75, got 20 down so far.

I've pretty much cut out all soda. Gotta cut down on portion size and booze. I'm 230lbs and can still run 3 miles in 25 minutes, though. 10 years ago I did it in 18.5 minutes.

How long have you been working at it?

About 3 months, this time around. Was actually looking at having gastric bypass surgery at one point, and still may. Insurance will cover it, but I have to come up with about $2k co-payment. That's the only reason I haven't had it yet.

It's not so bad now, but it does bother me sometimes. I also broke my wrist in the same fall. At the time it was the more major injury. It shattered my distal radius. Wore a cast for 6 weeks and it didn't help. So I got medevac-ed from Japan back to Hawaii and they did surgery. I had rods and pins sticking out of my arm for 6 more weeks, then some occupational therapy since my wrist was immobile for 3 months. I now have a titanium plate in my wrist and some really cool scars.

My neck always hurts, but sit-ups seem to bother it. And if I sleep on it wrong. I think what aggrevated it the first time was that I had been on my hands and knees sealing grout in my house all day and it put too much strain on my neck. I know it's something that will have to be addressed soon.
